The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lawyer to join our newly created Legal Governance and Integrity Department. This is an exciting opportunity to manage and oversee the legal aspects of the RYA Advisory Service, a key benefit offered to our personal and organisational members. The post holder will be responsible for providing legal input for the RYA’s advisory service, including developing guidance, addressing questions, and conducting training. They will report to the Head of Legal, overseeing junior lawyers and external advisers, and may assist with broader RYA-related legal issues.

Your responsibilities as Lawyer will include, but are not limited to:

• Legal Advisory: Provide and oversee legal advice for RYA members and affiliates on boating-related issues. Offer guidance on dispute resolution, liability, property, constitutional, employment, and corporate matters.
• Research and Guidance: Conduct research on legal issues, monitor changes in laws, and communicate updates through articles, guidance notes, and presentations. Develop and maintain template legal documents.
